ECEC-Africa
Third term is the longest holiday period in Nigeria’s school calendar for both primary and secondary schools, spanning July and September every year. Thus, children spend a minimum of 50 days outside the barricaded classroom. During this period, children who are not meaningfully engaged become scape goats in the hands of peer pressure, considerable number have been lured into different evil associations that many a times have lead to colossal societal damage.
The goal of HCH is to create a comfortable environment for children to explore themselves creatively, besides delivering them from the perils of idleness during this long vacation.
The maiden edition of HCH was packaged for children (ages 6 – 13 years) from public primary schools from low-income homes. Activities are geared at helping children discover, develop and deploy their talents.
